python-qrtools software package provides high level library for reading and generating QR codes, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-qrtools
python-qrtools is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-qrtools package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-qrtools *
You will get with python-qrtools package name, version, architecture and description in a table
